About Me
Deirdre Bain
I am an intersectional feminist doula, meaning that I practice anti-oppressive methods of care, guided by the needs & wishes of my clients. It also means that I provide individualized, trauma-informed doula care to birthing people & their partners.
I have chosen a career as a doula because I believe it is the best combination of my skills and interests, mobilized to nurture my community. I have always been a nurturer, as a friend, sister, daughter & partner. In my work, I strive to create a trust & openness with my clients which allows them to see me as a friend who is also their personal expert in pregnancy, birth & parenting.
My goal with each client is to foster a sense of self-confidence. I will gently guide you through education & self-reflection, & encourage you to fully articulate your wishes for birth & postpartum.

I believe that by actively supporting bodily autonomy & informed choice, we can break cycles of trauma & make way for a society that puts mental health & body sovereignty first. I practice doula work in the hope that by supporting health for parents, they will impart health onto their children, which in turn creates a healthy society.
